The terrace of the Gibson Room at the Redbury Hotel is in many ways a perfect location for a New York City Wedding. The Gibson Room by Marta is within the Redbury Hotel and is situated in the heart of Manhattan New York City. Surrounded by New York’s iconic landmarks – the Flatiron building a stone’s throw away; a straight shot down from the Empire State Building in Midtown Manhattan. Huddled within the buildings, the Redbury Hotel rooftop feels a bit like a platform- center stage in the middle of the Big Apple.
For Louisa and Andy, it wasn’t quite about the stage. Their families were coming together from separate parts of the world – Holland and Haiti. Friends gathered not just to witness, but to live something more than just a day’s celebration and night’s party.
I first met Louisa and Andy in person over dinner in Lower Manhattan. They had heard of me through Helen, whose wedding I was to photograph later that year. I loved their energy- the two of them vibrant but calm and centered. We sat and ate and talked about the day to come. It was exciting- two families and a variety of different cultures joining up for a day of celebration. The venue was to be the Gibson Room at the Redbury Hotel NYC. The energy would have been unique, phenomenal.
You’ll see in the pictures that there was a lot of heart that day. Sentimental, proud, nostalgic, blissful, ecstatic. Explosions of emotions- laughs and tears, turning into feelings of joy and happiness. And yes, there was a whole lot of love.
For Louisa and Andy.

Our wonderful experience would not have been possible if it were not for the team that helped make the day as beautiful as it was. A huge amount of gratitude to the hard work and dedication of a team that came together so well for Louisa and Andy’s wedding at the Gibson Room by Marta at the Redbury Hotel.
A big hug!
